This is my go-to makeup look, and it takes approx 10 minutes. Before I dipped my toes in the world of modern non-drugstore makeup, I had (typically) the same look day in and day out, with the exception of eye shadow changes. The look is:
L’oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup in Porcelain – W1 – this has been my go-to foundation for years. After a horrible bout of acne all through high school and a 12-month Accutane fix, I have finally been blessed with somewhat normal skin. It spreads on super thin so you don’t have that unnatural look. Porcelain is a bit too light for me these days (I’ve always been very pale), but the next step up always seemed to make my skin look too dark. They have way more variety these days and I could probably find a better match, but I currently prefer to try new products rather than go back to old 🙂
Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush in Bombshell – rather than use this as a blush, I use it as a bronzer to lift my skin back to a more natural glow. I love this bronzer, and have never found another one I like more (yet).
Covergirl Lash Blast Waterproof Mascara in Black Brown 835 – I will never stop carrying this with me. For a drugstore brand, it is fantastic. It goes on smooth, doesn’t clump lashes, and doesn’t smudge. Enough said.
Sephora Collection Long Lasting 12-Hr Wear Eyeliner in Dark Brown 06 – felt-tip liners are my favorite. I struggle with pencil liners for the top lashes, but felt-tip liners glide across and the color-payoff is wonderful. This is for my top lashes only.
Almay Intense I-Color in Raisin – this under eyeliner is just enough to add depth under my lashes, while still looking natural.
Revlon Lip Butter in various shades (this one is Candy Apple) – I can’t go on enough about these lip butters. I own something like 7-8 shades and I wear them all. GO BUY ONE! They’re awesome. It’s truly like colorful lip balm, it’s so soft and stays on for ages.
My best friend worked at Ann Taylor a while back and every time I went in to visit, I tried this bracelet on. I absolutely adore it, and being my best friend, she bought it for me as a surprise gift 🙂 I love her to pieces, and not just because she has great taste!
Lastly, I subscribed to Birchbox last month and I got my January box last week 🙂 This Ruby Wing Color-Changing Polish was one of my favorite pieces that they sent (along with “whish” body butter in pomegranate and “Beauty Protector” leave-in conditioner!). You can see it painted on my ring finger in the close-up shot above. It’s supposed to appear as gold sparkles inside and more bronze-y outside. I’m a bad blogger and can’t remember the name of the polish. I tried looking it up and the closest one I can come to is Sunflower. Regardless, I can’t tell the difference, but I only have one coat on. I still love a pretty sparkle!
