My name is Ali, and I started this blog back in 2013. The original intentions of the blog were to go an entire year without buying clothes, and guess what? I was successful! Read about my final thoughts on this journey HERE.

After my no-new-clothes-challenge was up, I pondered which direction to take my blog. I ultimately decided to pursue more of my interests in fashion and beauty, with a little bit of day-to-day lifestyle and travel posts mixed in!

I am a 26 yr old accountant from Ohio, USA. I love corgis, k-pop, making lists, Lana Del Rey, fashion, sunflowers, driving, wearing heels, vegetarianism, subscription boxes, running, playing anything to do with the Mario franchise, trying new things, traveling, fall, pasta, reading, birthdays, nautical things, Sailor Moon, financial news, manga, playing with makeup, dancing, you name it.

Let’s make 2015 great together!

  1. This is such an inspiring idea! I’m trying to do the 40 Hanger Closet challenge and also not buy anything until the end of the school year… admittedly I’ve already slipped up twice (once before today) but it’s definitely limiting my buying! I just need to get rid of stuff now!

    • You can do it! I think our willpower is stronger the longer we stick to something. The hardest part of the challenge was the beginning, but after being successful for so long, I don’t want to let myself down! Best of luck and thanks for commenting πŸ™‚

  2. I love this challenge you’ve given yourself! Has it been easier or more difficult than you thought it would be? I’d probably find it super hard to hold back from buying clothes — I think it’s so cool you’re doing this!

    • I’ve gone through phases–the first couple weeks were the hardest bc I could relapse and start all over again. However, the longer I went, the easier it became bc I didn’t want to disappoint myself or have to reveal to my viewers that I screwed up. I’ve got less than 3 months left so hopefully I can stay strong! Thanks for your thoughtful comment πŸ™‚

      • Well (as silly as this might sound) you’re so strong!! πŸ˜‰ It really makes me wonder how much money and time I could save if I just made do with all the things I already have. Most of us always want the next new thing, and we never pause to realize we don’t actually need any new things. Thanks for the reminder to always be grateful for all the blessings I have!!

  3. Omg..you are fabulous! I found you from a comment you left on my blog. I love the idea of your challenge and will be checking back regularly. I did a 30 Day Closet Challenge on my blog and FB page in June and one of the “rules” was no new purchases. It was hard for a month…365 day – really, really hard! But a great idea and I love the looks you have come up with. Good luck!

    • Thank you for checking my blog out! It’s been a challenge but I can’t believe it is almost over! I need to go through and reorganize my closet (again) and get rid of a few more things before I buy anymore πŸ™‚

  5. I love this! Discipline and self-control, yes those are really hard to pull off especially when they are in front of you! But I’m glad you’re determined. Good for you! πŸ™‚
